Lost data? Afraid that repair tools
only make matters worse?
iRecover is a Windows based, read-only data recovery
utility. iRecover does not repair the damaged volume or disk.
Instead it analyzes the damaged source and rebuilds a "virtual
file system" in memory. From this virtual file system you can
copy data to an intact drive.
iRecover offers FAT, FAT32 and NTFS file system support, and
supports all current Microsoft Windows versions (including 2000
Server and Workstation, and XP).
Did you accidentally delete or
reformat a volume, or did a virus wipe the partition
table?
iRecover allows you to recover data from deleted, corrupt,
reformatted, virus attacked and intact (for recovering deleted
files) volumes.
# Can you "do it yourself"? Isn't the software difficult to
use?
iRecover can be used by users of any experience level as you
are stepped through the recovery process from phase to
phase.
In 'simple mode' (default) the user is only required to select
the source drive.
In advanced mode the 'power-user' can observe detailed reports
on the progress of the recovery and modify parameters to
influence the recovery.
# Run iRecover from a bootable CD/DVD
You can run iRecover from a bootable Windows CD/DVD. DIY
DataRecovery has created a plugin which can be used to add
iRecover to a Bart PE CD/DVD.
Please note that if you wish to add iRecover to a Bart PE
CD/DVD you need to use the 'iRecover Bart PE Plugin
edition'.
Important: No software can recover data
that was lost due to mechanical and electronic defects. If the
hard disk is not detected in the BIOS, makes unusual noises and
sounds, or reports an excessive amount of read errors, do not
attempt to recover data yourself!
For all hardware related diskproblems follow the
DiskLabs link below :

The program can be used by users of any experience level. The user is stepped through the recovery process from screen to screen. There are 2 modes of operation.

- The simple mode will only ask the user to select the disk and partition that the data should be recovered from. From there on no user interaction is required until the file list is shown.
- The advanced mode allows the user to influence the recovery process during all recovery phases, though this is usually not required.
