Introduction to BugBox
- Is your project late or over budget?
- Have you noticed that getting bugs fixed takes far
too much time?
- Is it annoying that your change requests seem to
disappear into a pending list somewhere?
- Why do all the problems you report to your
colleagues by email never get acknowledged properly?
- Would you like to deploy a top-quality methodology like
PRINCE2 but lack the budget and time to send all your
project team members on the necessary training courses/
BugBox is a PRINCE2-compliant change, issue and risk log. It
is specifically designed to enable project managers and teams
to focus on the important things: controlling ownership and
fixing issues. BugBox's PRINCE2 principles will sit happily
with almost all other project management processes or
none. Its your choice.
A recent customer deployed BugBox across a 40+ team for
change management. The entire programme (5 projects, as well as
the incident reporting and the helpdesk) is now using BugBox's
fairly unobtrusive workflow to keep things zipping along.
Crucially, BugBox is a self-service change management system,
satisfying the team's need to register all and sundry issues in
the heat of the moment. But it remains under the project
management team's authority to actually authorise issues for
work. From customer experience, that's often less than 50% of
all raised changes actually getting as far as being worked
on.
There are always options to use simple, home-made
spreadsheets to record and manage project issues and
sometimes, this quick-and-dirty method is just as effective as
any issue log. But as soon as the project team needs to be more
collaborative (usually about 2 months into the issue logging
activity), you might regret not going for a basic system from
the beginning...
Why not buy now or evaluate for free? BugBox is used daily
by thousands of project managers across the world to deliver
projects on time. Can your project afford not to join them?
BugBox v4.0 incorporates customisable issue forms,
cost-based issue tracking and full email integration. BugBox
can be used in all types of project software,
construction, etc- as well as helpdesk and change management
processes after the project has delivered.
ScreenShots
Bugbox Main Screen

-
The BugBox main screen displays all Issues for the project,
sorted in Issue ID order. Issues can be filtered as open,
closed, etc. The main screen is personalised for each user and
displays My Work To Do (issues requiring work by
the user) and My Issues Raised (issues raised by
the user). Simply double-click on each issue to open and start
work.
BugBox Issue Screen (Off Specification)

Each BugBox Issue screen contains four discrete
stages: Step 1 Raise; Step 2
Investigate; Step 3 Authorise; Step 4
Resolve. These are the PRINCE2 project issue stages
and all project team members can adopt the methodology without
any specific training or management overhead. BugBox Issues can
be created around a simple template to suit each project
team.
BugBox Project Configuration Screen

Use this screen to configure the project editing
colours and logos, products, users and priorities. The project
management team can also use this screen to lock or freeze the
project for new issues. Guest or single users can also be
configured from here.
BugBox Database Connection Screen

BugBox Client can be run with either an MS Access or SQL
Server backend database. Unlike some issue tools, BugBox does
not restrict access to the issue data by the project team
in fact, both the database options for the BugBox are
free to access. We recommend larger project teams use the
BugBox SQL Server option for greater performance and
security.
BugBox Reports Screen

BugBox offers an advanced reporting suite. Project managers
and team members can report full and summery data on all issues
status, priority, owner, product and many more parameters. All
BugBox reports are exportable as Excel Spreadsheets,
pre-configured reports, Word documents or just print-outs. You
choose!

Testimonials / Industry
Praise
"This is a great product! It
dispenses with the unnecessary bits that you normally find in a
management logging and control tool and helps you focus on the
real objectives of Project Management - controlling ownership
and fixing issues! Highly recommended, as it actually does what
it says on the box"
"Our requirements to quickly implement a workflow
management tool were readily met by BugBox. In terms of a
product which is quick to deploy and exceptionally benign to
any existing configurations it could not be faulted"
"Excellent! BugBox has had a tremendous positive impact
on our issue-resolution rate. We even use BugBox as an Helpdesk
application, in addition to all our individual
projects."
Minimum system
requirements
BugBox is a windows-based product, developed in MS Access
and SQL Server and deployed via the licence-free MS Access 2000
Runtime application (users do not require any MS Access
licence). BugBox is a front-end/back-end application. The
BugBox Server file can be either SQL Server or MS Access
(including a seamless upsize from MS Access to a SQL Server
backend). We recommend the SQL version of the BugBox Server for
greater network performance and enhanced security.
