- Share one Internet connection - distribute
Internet access across your LAN with only one modem,
ISDN, DSL, T1/T3, wireless, or DirecPC line.
- Automatic client configuration - with
Avirt's client-side installation, there's no need to
configure each application manually to use the proxy
server. Traffic is routed from each client computer
as if it had its own Internet connection - and the
process is transparent! If you prefer, Gateway Suite
also allows you to set up client computers
manually.
- Automatic proxy detection - using Avirt's
unique Automatic Proxy Detection (APD2) protocol,
clients autodetect the proxy server, eliminating the
need for messy configurations.
- Dial on demand - initiate a dial-up
connection from any client machine.
- Auto disconnect - set Avirt to disconnect
after a specified period of inactivity.
- Firewall - Avirt hides your internal
network addresses behind an application-level
firewall to protect your LAN from outsiders. You can
feel safe even with an always-on connection.
- Shared cache - Avirt caches frequently
visited pages for quick retrieval.
- DHCP server - the Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server automatically
assigns IP addresses to LAN clients, simplifying
configuration. If you prefer, Gateway Suite also
allows you to disable DHCP in favor of an existing
DHCP server or manual configuration.
- DNS forwarding - Domain Name Service (DNS)
forwarder translates domain names to real IP
addresses.
- Logging - view all online activity
real-time in the log window or save the activity as a
log file for viewing with any third-party log file
analyzer.
- Native protocol support - supports HTTP,
HTTPS, FTP, NNTP, POP3, SMTP, Telnet, SOCKS 4/5, Real
Audio, DNS, PPTP, IRC, VDO Live, CSI 3/4,
WinCIM.
- Proxy to proxy support
- Online game/Internet gaming support - play
most online games or participate in Internet
gaming
- Allowed connections - with Avirt's
advanced IP-based security, administrators can
specify the exact IP addresses of machines that are
allowed to connect to the proxy. If an unauthorized
machine (from the LAN or the Internet) tries to
initiate communication, the proxy will reject the
connection.
- TCP/UDP bridging - bridge all traffic on
designated ports directly to specific locations.
- Reverse bridging - with reverse bridging
(reverse proxy) you can easily configure the proxy
server to allow access to internally hosted web or
email servers.
- Mac/Unix/Linux client support -
non-Windows clients be manually configured to use the
Avirt proxy as long as TCP/IP is installed on those
clients and the server is a PC running Windows.
- Standard email - view web-based email from
your browser or send and receive email using a mail
client like Microsoft Outlook.
